Arts Center Saint Michel Company carries on the glorious traditions of the Russian classical ballet, showing its best achievements all over the world. Keeping to the spirit of Serge Diaghilev’s Russian Seasons, Arts Center Saint Michel doesn’t limit its activities to working with the established dancers and choreographers of Russia, but boldly brings forward new names and projects.

Over the last ten years, Gala Performance Highlights of Russian Ballet (Artistic Director Mikhail Venshchikov) was successfully presented in over a hundred countries, including USA, Canada, Brazil, Chili, Argentina, Mexico, Columbia, Peru, Ecuador, the Netherlands, Spain, United Arab Emirates and others. The list of the project participants includes internationally acclaimed stars – Yulia Makhalina, Igor Kolb, Konstantin Zverev, Alexander Volchkov, Anna Nikulina, Yelena Pankova, Sergey Sidorsky, Yelena Andriyenko, Natalia Ledovskaya, Vera Arbuzova, Irina Perren and Marat Shemiunov, as well as the young soloists, for whom these performances were an important step on the way to international recognition – Victor Lebedev, Oxana Bondareva, Svetlana Bednenko, Kristina Andreyeva, Oleg Ivenko, Alexander Taranov, Kseniya Barbasheva, Boris Zhurilov and many others.

The repertoire policy of Arts Center Saint Michel is built around the parity of the old and the new, tradition and experiment, classic and vanguard. The program of Gala performances features both the fragments from the classical 19th century ballets (Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Giselle, Don Quixote, Corsair, La Bayadere), and the masterpieces of the early 20th century (Sheherazade, Firebird, Chopeniana, Petrushka, Egyptian Nights) that, when first shown to the public, were perceived as an insult to the public taste.

Honoring the genius of the choreographers of the Russian and Soviet ballet theatre, such as Marius Petipa, Alexander Gorsky, Mikhail Fokin, Leonid Lavrovsky, Vasily Vainonen, Yuri Grigirovich, Arts Center Saint Michel is open to cooperation with the young Russian choreographers. The company’s repertoire features the classical masterpieces, such as Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Giselle and Sleeping Beauty, performed in the best traditions of the Imperial ballet theatre. At the same time, we offer the public contemporary pieces by Vera Arbuzova, Yelena Kuzmina, Maxim Sevagin – their innovative approach is based on meticulous conformity with the criteria of style and genre, and rigorous application of the canons of a ballet show.

Arts Center Saint Michel mission statement is to present the continuity of tradition and the cross-generational bond in the Russian ballet art. The exquisite masterpieces of classical ballet, performed by the Russian ballet stars, are linked together with the choreography of the 21st century, that reinforces the authority of Russian ballet art worldwide.
